In 2011, in Japan there was an earthquake and tsunami called the Great East Japan Earthquake incident which had a magnitude of 9 on the scale that led to a tsunami hitting coastal areas causing extensive damage and loss of lives in those communities.The disaster not affected Japan. Also had global repercussions as it resulted in a nuclear disaster, at the Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant releasing dangerous radioactive substances into the surroundings.

In 2015, in Nepal there was an earthquake measuring 7. 5 On the Richter scale that impacted the nation and its inhabitants significantly. It resulted in damage in rural regions where numerous communities were already at risk due to poverty and insufficient infrastructure. This catastrophe underscored the difficulties of delivering relief and support to difficult to access locations well as the significance of readiness and rapid intervention, in times of disaster.

Both of these situations involved earthquakes that caused damage, to communities through destruction and loss of life while also disrupting daily routines significantly. Nevertheless they also united communities through resilience and a sense of unity as individuals rallied together to aid one another following the calamities. These instances underscore the role that disaster readiness, infrastructure and community solidarity play, in responding to natural disasters.
